Which phone do you have now? One Plus? Let’s see how One Plus became remarkable mobile phone brand. One Plus launched with 300 USD in their marketing budget and created one of the best marketing campaigns in mobile phone industry.

The first phone they launched was OnePlusOne and this phone dominated the market in a very short time because of their extraordinary marketing. 

OnePlusOne became the new king of mid-range smartphones.

What was the marketing plan?

One Plus created a campaign in which they picked a fight with their competitors and got all the attraction. It was really loud.

OnePlus one was promoted as “2014 Flagship Killer” because it offered comparable specification at much lower prices. 

After that OnePlus launched “Smash the Past” Campaign, in which fans would film themselves destroying their smartphones from competitors for a chance to win the OnePlus One; co-founder Carl Pei claims they attracted 140,000 entries.

And their invite-only system made it exclusive. The demand was so great that the one-year old website had 25.6 Mn visitors in Dec 2014.

Now OnePlus use invite system during the launch of their product.

To make it more exclusive, they have pop-up stores where people can view the phone but can’t purchase it.
