Neil Patel - Marketing Inspiration – Episode 1 – The Marketer Who Had No Choice

Marketing Inspiration – Episode 1 – The Marketer Who Had No Choice

He learned marketing because he had no choice.

He cleaned restrooms and picked trash cans at the age of 15.

He worked as a vacuum cleaner salesman and failed.

Then instead of finding a job on Monster.com, he learned about Monster.com’s business model.

And started his own job board called Advice Monkey.

After spending $5,000.00 to build the job board, he launched it and learned that he has to market a site for it to be successful.

Then he hired internet marketers, who provided little to no results.

Because Internet marketers he had hired had taken all my money, he decided to learn Internet marketing myself.

Within a few months, he became pretty good at it.

Advice Monkey started to become popular, but it never succeeded because the site was not set up to take credit card transactions.

Inspired by his sister, he wanted to become Oracle consultant but didn’t have a college degree. So, he decided to go to college.

His first class was Speech 101 where he gave a speech on “How SEO works” and got his first gig from the audience.

Rest is just history.

He is Neil Patel. Founder of Crazy Egg, Hello Bar and KISSmetrics
