She was born in 1918.
At age 17, she got married and soon had three children.
she sold books door-to-door, selling an amazing $25,000 in just six months.
In 1938, got divorced and decided to change career.
Went to work for Stanley Home Products.
Though one of the top salespeople, She didn’t get promoted.
And didn’t get pay raises that the men were getting.
After 25 years of hard work, she retired in 1963.
Then she wanted to write a book.
She wanted to help women survive in the male-dominated business world.
She made two lists.
One contained the right things companies did.
The other one contained the things which could have been done better.
While working on the list, she figured out that she just created a marketing plan for her dream company.
One which can really help a woman succeed.
With savings of $5000 and his son, she launched the company in 1963.

Her greatest achievement?? she overturned the notion that women didn’t belong in the competitive world of sales.
Her motto: “God first, family second, career third”
in 70’s, she gave incentives such as pink Cadillacs and Diamond bee pins.
If 1985, she gave an interview and said “I feel like I’m doing something far more important than just selling cosmetics. “I think we’re building lives.”
